How to Make the Font Size Bigger in ComfyUI

Four ways to make text bigger in ComfyUI: the prompt box font size, zooming the interface, keeping node text visible when zoomed out, and the node text size.

How to Make the Font Size Bigger in ComfyUI

Yes, you can make the text bigger in ComfyUI. For prompt boxes, open Settings (Ctrl + ,), search for "font" and raise Textarea widget font size. To make the whole interface bigger, zoom the browser with Ctrl and +. Below are both, plus two settings that keep node text readable when you zoom out.

First published January 2025 on the old PixelAI Labs blog. Refreshed in October 2026: the steps below are checked, the links point to the current project pages, and newer options are mentioned where they help.

Make prompt text bigger

1. Open Settings. Click the gear icon or press:

text
Ctrl + ,

2. Search for font. You will find Textarea widget font size under Appearance → Node Widget.

3. Raise the value. It goes from 8 to 24 and starts at 10. Try 14 to 16 for comfortable reading. The change applies at once to every prompt and text box on your nodes.

Make the whole interface bigger

ComfyUI runs in a browser page, so the browser zoom scales everything: menus, sidebars and the canvas text.

text
Ctrl and +   zoom in
Ctrl and -   zoom out
Ctrl and 0 back to 100%

On a Mac, use Cmd instead of Ctrl. The browser remembers the zoom level for ComfyUI's address.

Keep node text visible when you zoom out

When you zoom out on a big workflow, ComfyUI switches nodes to a simplified look and hides their text to stay fast. Search the settings for Zoom Node Level of Detail - font size threshold. Set it to 0 to always draw the full node, or lower it (for example to 6) so text stays visible longer. On very large workflows this can make panning slower.

Try the modern node design

Newer versions of ComfyUI include Modern Node Design (Nodes 2.0) in Settings. It draws nodes with regular page elements, so text is sharper and follows your browser zoom. Turn it on, see if you prefer it, and turn it off again if a custom node looks wrong.

Advanced: bigger node titles with a color palette

The size of node titles and labels is part of the color palette. In Settings → Appearance, export your current palette, open the file in a text editor and raise these values, then import it and select it:

json
"NODE_TEXT_SIZE": 16,
"NODE_SUBTEXT_SIZE": 14

The defaults are 14 and 12. The palette options change between ComfyUI versions, so check the names in your exported file.

FAQ

Can I make the font bigger in ComfyUI?

Yes. Raise Textarea widget font size in Settings for prompt boxes, and use the browser zoom (Ctrl and +) for the whole interface.

Why does the text disappear when I zoom out?

ComfyUI hides node details when zoomed out to stay fast. Set Zoom Node Level of Detail - font size threshold to 0 or a lower number.

Does the font size setting change my workflows?

No. It is a personal display setting saved with your ComfyUI user settings, not inside workflow files.

How do I reset the size?

Set Textarea widget font size back to 10 and press Ctrl and 0 to reset the browser zoom.

Take it further

Readable nodes make long workflows much easier to work with. If you want a ready-made, tested system instead of assembling one yourself, the UltraRealistic AI Influencer Pro course walks through character design, LoRA training, KREA 2 photos and MiniMax H3 videos step by step, and the InstantClone AI Influencer Suite creates consistent images and motion videos from one character image.
